"Baost in Show" is the 28th episode of the first season of Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart, and the 28th episode overall.
Synopsis
When Bao Bao returns, and the King makes him his pet, Mao Mao must rescue his ex-partner.
Plot
It's a normal day...for the trio of heroes to partake in King Snugglemagne's unnecessary service, this time entertaining him by playing with discus. Mao Mao refuses
to pick up the discus, which annoys the petty king, until they hear a dog's noise from the bushes. It turns out that Bao Bao has returned, but Mao Mao is angered while the others adores Bao Bao's cuteness. Still bearing a grudge of Bao Bao's previous departures, Mao Mao rushes up to scold him, only to find that Bao Bao chooses to play discus with the king. He assumes Bao Bao would betray the king, until Bao Bao catches the discus which surprises him.
After feeding Bao Bao with a treat, King Snugglemagne decides to keep Bao Bao as a pet. Putting a collar and leash around Bao Bao's neck, he announces a royal pet prom (even though he is probably going to be the only competitor). Initially, Mao Mao scoffs at the king's ridiculous idea and gloats at Bao Bao, until Bao Bao runs off with the king who refers him as a new best friend. This provokes Mao Mao's memories with Bao Bao. His two friends are chill about the entire matter, but Mao Mao insists
that Bao Bao belongs to him and even emphasizes how the first time Bao Bao has left him behind. He then announces his participation in the contest before Badgerclops can speak out.
At the contest, Badgerclops follows the plan by firstly having a
painful pull for his ears so that he resembles a dog more. King Snugglemagne commences the contest and orders his guards to throw in Chubbum and Gary as the only audience. Badgerclops smoothly passes the checking and walking even though he lashes out at Chett, and Chubbum
gets forced to clap harder by the guards because of the King's unreasonable demand.
During break time, Adorabat knocks out two of the guards so that Mao Mao can reach Bao Bao and he wants to take Bao Bao away with him by sliding down the tower with Badgerclops' mechanical
arm (which again knocks out another guard). However, Bao Bao is unwilling to leave with Mao Mao. So, the King tries to call him, Then Mao Mao takes off his suit and escape. But when he was surrounded by his guards, They began to fight them.
Then, they break out of the windows and He tries to get Bao Bao by giving him a treat, But Mao Mao uses his cape as a parachute to pass though the kingdom doors. He apologizes to his dog to be friends again, However, he calls him team, and It shows Bagderclops and Adorabat tied up while the king plays the piano, as ending the episode.

- The title itself is a play on the 2000 movie Best in Show, following five entrants in a prestigious dog show, and focuses on the slightly surreal interactions among the various owners and handlers, as they travel to the show and then compete during the show.
- The song that plays during the Pet Prom is a take on the song "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.
