"Zing Your Heart Out" is the 39th episode of the first season of Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart.
Synopsis[]
When Adorabat starts to aggressively heckle everyone with her new zing power, she threatens the entire kingdom.
Plot[]
The episode begins at the Sushi Hut, where Mao Mao asks for restaurant staff to take his money before Badgerclops reveals to him that it is a free sushi day at the Sushi Hut. Adorabat tells her jokes to Mao Mao and Badgerclops until Chester Nutz butts into the conversation, telling Adorabat how wimpy her jokes are. Adorabat becomes upset due to Chester's insults (which he refers to as "zingers") and wishes that she had the ability to use "zingers" against him. The Ruby Pure Heart grants her wish, turning her eyes purple and granting her the ability to remove others' self-confidence by telling "zingers" to other people. Adorabat "zings" Chester and causes him to run away from the Sushi Hut, to which Mao Mao and Badgerclops congratulate her for making a good comeback.
The trio are alerted to the presence of the Sky Pirates in the park. Adorabat "zings" Ramaraffe, Orangusnake, and Boss Hosstrich, which defeats them easily. Badgerclops and Mao Mao realize that Adorabat has the power to zing others, which they view with unease. Their worries are proven when Kevin walks to Adorabat and brings flowers to sell for his school trip, which causes Adorabat to zing him. Mao Mao and Badgerclops tell Adorabat to stop zinging Kevin, as he is only a child, but she ends up zinging Mao Mao and Badgerclops as well. Adorabat feels remorse at this action, but is then taken over again by the power and goes further into the kingdom.
Adorabat zings Cluckins, Marion, Gary, Mail Mole, Benny, Penny, Ketchup, Muffins, Pinky, and Chester. All of the above except Pinky are incapacitated. Adorabat continues to be controlled by the power, and goes to Pure Heart Palace. Adorabat zings King Snugglemagne and assumes control of the kingdom, taking Snugglemagne's crown. Meanwhile, Mao Mao and Badgerclops see all the Sweetypies that have been zinged by Adorabat, and question Pinky when they see that he has been unharmed. Pinky tells them that he is immune to being zinged because he hates himself. This leads Mao Mao and Badgerclops to attempt zinging themselves to make themselves immune to Adorabat. Mao Mao and Badgerclops hurry to the castle to stop Adorabat and attempt to zing themselves, which ends up being ineffective. Mao Mao tells Adorabat to zing herself, which temporarily works. Unfortunately, the possession soon returns more powerful than before.
Mao Mao and Badgerclops are forced to pull out an emergency strategy of using the jokes from Adorabat's joke book, which becomes effective because they are positive jokes (the opposite of zingers). Adorabat destroys the joke book, but Mao Mao knows all of her jokes by heart and continues them until Adorabat's possession is stopped. With the situation resolved, Snugglemagne regains his title of king and the trio leave the castle. Chester approaches the trio once again to zing Mao Mao, but the trio are fed up with his jokes and proceed to teach Chester a lesson about "physical comedy".

- This episode and "Strange Bedfellows" are the only episodes produced in 2020 for Season 1.
- This episode introduced the corruption of the Ruby Pure Heart, which was going to serve as a plot hook. However, this plot hook will remain unresolved owing to the series' cancellation.
Cultural References[]
- Adorabat's "zingers" ability are similar in attack by Zuboshimeshi/Negatron from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger/Power Rangers Samurai. Because both characters are able to turn their victims emotional into a physical assault by saying an insult from their mouths. Coincidentally, their attack is also unaffected if a victim actually hates themselves and able to accept their insults.
