Users are granted the privileges due to being active and trusted editors.
Administrators are generally expected to meet the following standards:
- 1,000+ edits
- Active editor
- Knowledge of our regulations
- Shown experience in editing
- Willingness to assist users who request it and respond in a courteous manner
Bureaucrats are promoted by the existing Bureaucrats and Administrators
- Only acting Administrators are eligible to be promoted
After prolonged periods of inactivity without notice, staff members may be demoted from their position(s) or receive a notice that they may be demoted; if they resume their wiki activity regularly, they may be allowed to return to their positions.
Members demoted for rule violations and/or irresponsible behavior (based on the violation and its severity) will need to wait some time before re-applying for their position and prove to the administration that they have improved their behavior.
Protecting pages (for administrators)
The majority of pages and images on this wiki should remain unprotected. All pages and files cannot be renamed by non-staff users. Pages that are permanently protected are the proper display of the wiki: the Main Page, the Theme Designer and interface images, policy pages, and templates used on the articles.
A temporary protection is used for:
- Preventing a page or image that has been a recent target of persistent vandalism or spam edits from creation by a banned user.
- Enforcing a "cool down" period to stop an "edit war", upon request. Do not protect a page you are involved in an edit dispute over. Avoid favoring one version of the article over another, unless one version is clear vandalism.
Temporarily protected pages should not be left protected for very long. Do not make the common mistake of protecting pages unnecessarily.
