"Sleeper Sofa" is the 30th episode of the first season of Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart.
Synopsis[]
When the Sky Pirates infiltrate Sheriff HQ, they put our heroes in danger!
Plot[]
The episode begins with the trio quarreling over pet peeves they have for each other such as Mao Mao's carelessness of
"Look What You've Done!"
where he puts his weapons, Badgerclops's "junk" collection, and Adorabat's messy painting habits. The argument then escalates and ends with the sofa (named "Sofia") being cut in two accidentally by Badgerclop's molten hot robotic arm.
Meanwhile, the Sky Pirates are about to have dinner, which consists of a single metal beam, much to Ramaraffe's dismay. Suddenly, Boss Hosstrich gets a signal from Mao Mao's phone and learns that he just called furniture store to order a new sofa, which although confuses Orangusnake (because ordering by the phone was seen as outdated to him), it gives him an idea.
The four of them then hatch a plan which they bring to fruition via a montage which involved Ratarang pretending to get injured by Penny and Benny's moving truck. Ramaraffe luring them away with balloons while the other three Sky Piarates sneak into the back of the truck.
Soon a new sofa is introduced,
Tony.
which Mao Mao names "Tony". Adorabat immediately dislikes it due to it's enormous size, and Badgerclops also expresses dislike for the new sofa as he is unable to part with the old sofa yet. This leads to another quarrel regarding pet peeves which ends with them reserving parts of the house for themselves, with Badgerclops taking the kitchen, Mao Mao taking the living room, and Adorabat taking the dojo. It is also show that the Sky Pirates are hiding inside the sofa but without knowledge or suspicion of the heroes.
As night falls and the sheriff's department is asleep, the Sky Pirates emerge from the sofa. Orangusnake
They Sneak Into the Kitchen.
sees this as a chance to finally kill Mao Mao, but is stopped when he is called over to the kitchen where he is greeted to a large mountain of unopened dipping sauces, (part of Badgerclop's collection) and soon changes his plan after taking a swig from one of the sauces. Instead of killing Mao Mao they'll just camp out in the sofa until nightfall and then emerge to "eat delicious sauces and watch TV".
The next day, the quarrels still seem to be going on. With Mao Mao barricading himself, Adorabat painting the entire dojo, and Badgerclops

hoarding all the food. Soon they all begin to destroy everything around the house in a fit of crazed anger toward's each other, which increasingly distresses Orangusnake's goons to the point where it leads him to emerge from the sofa to fight Mao Mao, much to the trio's shock and horror.
In the end, after battling for a short while, the sheriff's department team up together and use their possessions to push the new couch with the Sky Pirates in it out the window and down the waterfall next to their house. After reconciling with each other, they repair their old sofa and promise not to argue as much. The episode ends with the newly fixed old sofa abruptly falling apart again after they sit on it, and Mao Mao stating how much he misses the new couch.

- This is the final episode to premiere in 2019 and the 2010s decade.
- This is also the last episode to premiere before the Outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
- This is the first episode to not take place at Pure Heart Valley.
- Originally, when Orangusnake lifts up his axe to finish off Mao Mao, he was going to say "Say hi to my Dad, Mao Mao" instead of "Goodbye, Mao Mao". It was changed because it was obtuse in meaning and could be confusing the audience. [1]

- This is the second time Mao Mao ate cobbler. The first episode to feature Mao Mao eating cobbler was "Sugar Berry Fever"
